Manufacturing Shop Floor Dashboard Screenshot - status, metrics of a bottling line

When applying the concept of a digital dashboard to an assembly line environment, there is the challenge of graphically depicting the states of each stage of the process. Take the example of a bottling line. Do you have one dashboard for the entire line showing small metrics panels for each station, or do you have a separate dashboard for each machine? How do you clearly depict all this for the user?

The experts at oeeimpact.com offer this clever approach. The business dashboard screenshot below shows a 3D sketch of the Filler, Labeller and Cartoner machines in a bottling line. Below each machine is a metrics panel with red/green/yellow status bars and the metric associated with each machine. The leftmost panel is labelled Bottle Line and has the overall status of the operation. A good way to visually depict the status of each machine. Notice the 3D drawings themselves. They are sketches of the machines. Look to the left of the stations. You’ll see that there is a computer monitor with a red/green/yellow light above. This is a great real-world, physical tie-in to the digital dashboard. If there is a red condition at one machine, not only do you see it on the enterprise dashboard, the actual machine on the shop floor will flash its red light and show it on its computer monitor. Rather neat.
