Network Security Management Dashboard Screenshot - vulnerability, security assessment

In the past, my go-to place for finding the latest ideas in enterprise dashboards was the network/infrastructure management tool space. Early on, the vendors in this space embraced the idea of graphically-rich dashboards. I suppose it was due to the fact that much of the information was visually-based plus the users were extremely tech-savvy. The rest of the enterprise has caught up with this trend and, as you see from the daily screenshots on this blog, there are dashboards for every corner of the business and of all shapes and sizes. People love the graphic bells and whistles (even when the resulting graphs are hard-to-understand, or even worse, misleading).
I still like to check into the networking dashboards to see what's going on. Here we have from qualys.com a network vulnerability assessment dashboard. This executive dashboard provides a summary of the current threat analysis. We have several graphs - Vulnerabilities by Severity Level, Status, and Open Tickets. Below that we have tables with lists of the Top 10 Tickets, Top 10 Vulnerabilities and Most Vulnerable Hosts. The red lights show critical items such as exposures in the network, and overdue tickets.

So what or who is The Dashboard Spy? As his about page states, The Dashboard Spy is just a guy interested in the design of enterprise dashboards. He could not find any executive dashboard design source books (or even screenshots of real business dashboards) and so set about creating his own. Finally convinced to post his extensive collection of dashboard screenshots online, he was amazed to find how popular it has become. If you have a nice screenshot of a digital dashboard, balanced scorecard, or any business intelligence graphic to share, please send an email to info _at_ dashboardspy.com.
