Citywide Performance Reporting Dashboard for NYC

A city as large as New York City certainly has a large task ahead of it when it comes to reporting performance. Of course, city officials can produce key performance metrics (KPIs), that’s not the problem. In fact, thousands of such metrics flood the city management offices every day. The challenge is how to organize the data into a meaningful presentation suitable for public consumption and understanding.

Here is a screengrab of the New York City Citywide Performance Reporting application. BTW, it’s an OBIEE dashboard application. That’s Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition for us non-acronym types.

In this performance reporting tool introduction video, Mayor Blumberg explains that the CPR (Citywide Performance Reporting application) allows you to:

Search for performance measures about the services you are interested in
Review statistics summarizing how well government is performing in different areas
Review specific agencies’ outcome measures

As the city’s P.R. department said: “Citywide Performance Reporting (CPR) is New York City’s comprehensive online tool that lets you access and review data about performance management. The focus of the statistical information in CPR is on the performance of City agencies in delivering services to the public.”
